The Connect: Through their mutual love of music and mutual friends, the two were playful through emails for six months then decided to get together for dinner and to see one of their favorite bands. The rest is history.
The Proposal: Barry surprised Sarah with a special made photo album with fond memories as a Christmas present, the final photo said it all, “Look up, smile and say yes”. Barry was there with a beautiful ring holding it out for Sarah! The entire restaurant was in on the plan and a special meal and champagne were delivered to the table soon after.
The Celebration: The couple wanted their wedding to be fun, fresh and unique. They went with a bright and vivid color palette including orange, red, lime green and lemon yellow. They wanted the theme to feel like an end-of-the summer BBQ, which included an amazing comfort food menu, with appetizers of pulled pork hush puppies and gazpacho shots. Keeping it casual, they had food stations of southern BBQ foods under the tent which was decorated with lights and colorful lanterns and long family style tables. The couple considers themselves music buffs so entertainment was a very important aspect to their reception. They choose a great local band, Lady Dottie and the Diamonds. The dance floor was packed and everyone rocked the night away!
Sarah’s Advice:
“Have fun and go with the flow! Have a vision and follow it but don’t get too crazy about every single little detail.”
