The Connect: The couple met at a Christmas party where they were to have a Secret Santa gift exchange. Nicole had forgotten a gift and grabbed a beer she found in the refrigerator which caught Jake’s attention since the beer belonged to him. Nicole was not sure if it was the holiday cheer or love at first sight, but fate would have it, she stole his beer and he ended up stealing her heart.

The Proposal: Jake prepared a romantic evening in their apartment and waited for Nikki to come home from work. He had the song “Waiting for an Angel” playing with rose petals and candles scattered everywhere. Jake bent down on one knee and said, “Nikki, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I have waited my whole life to find you. I know God put me on earth to ask you to marry me”. He slipped the beautiful ring on her finger and they celebrated their perfect evening together.

The Celebration: The ceremony and reception was held at the peaceful Rancho Bernardo Inn. Nikki grew up going to the Rancho Bernardo Inn with her grandparents, so the hotel held a special place in her heart. Nikki’s mother lent her interior design talents in coordinating the romantic and elegant décor throughout the ceremony and reception. Everyone had a wonderful evening filled with a lot of laughter.

Nikki’s Advice: “Take the whole day to relax with family and friends to get ready.”
